Stationary Remote Detection
Stationary Remote Detection serves as a relocatable container solution for controlling access to encampments and other stationary set-ups. Incorporated are a number of escalating access control systems that support the remote inspection of persons and luggage for the presence of dangerous objects, e.g. explosive belts or weapons, and the identification of potential terrorists.
The BAAINBw commissioned steep GmbH to configure the system, which it then realized in close collaboration with its partner Bavak Beveiligingsgroep BV. A system was deployed to the Bundeswehr encampment in Mazar-i-Sharif and was rendered inoperable prior to the withdrawal. A prior dismantling of the system was rejected by the command centre for security reasons.
One system continues in use and has now been upgraded to process biometric identifiers. An expansion in the form of vehicle inspection to Stationary Remote Detection has been contracted and is under construction.
